Willie Junior “Bill” Tuggle, a proud veteran of the United States Army and member of the Cherokee Nation, left this earthly life on May 6, 2022, at the age of 88. He was born to Willie Tuggle, Sr., and Flora Mae, (Ellis) Tuggle on December 26, 1933, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He married his beloved Shirley (who preceded him in death on November 13, 2020) in California on November 24, 1957.
Bill was extremely proud of his service to his country in the Army. He went on to be a civil servant for 30 years. Bill liked to tinker; he could fix anything. He cherished being and American and was very patriotic, making and installing flag poles.
Mr. Tuggle is survived by his children, Mike Tuggle and wife Linda of Ada, Oklahoma and Debbie Fisher and husband Larry of Durant, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Billy and wife Carley, Sarah, Jeremy and wife Carli, David and wife Candice, and Dennis, twelve great-grandchildren, sisters, Cora, Willa, Carolyn, Annetta, he is also survived by his brother, Gene.
Mr. Tuggle was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Flora Mae Tuggle, Sr., wife, Shirley Jean Tuggle, along with six brothers and sisters.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday May 12th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel, 121 North 5th Street, Durant, Oklahoma 74701 with Pastor Lee Armstrong officiating. He will be interned at the Shay Cemetery with honorary pallbearers, Billy Tuggle, Jeremy Fisher, David Fisher, and Brian Morris.
