Ronnie Dean Harp better known as “Ironhead” of Calera passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the age of 63. He was born on November 23, 1959 in Durant, Oklahoma to Richard and Elaine (Perkins) Harp.
Ronnie attended Calera schools and was active in FFA. He grew up on the family farm where they raised cattle and farmed peanuts. He was a truck driver for many years until he was made to retire due to health reasons. Ronnie enjoyed collecting hats, working in the garden, fishing with Moss, and was a HUGE fan of going out to eat. If you ever needed to find Ronnie, he was usually at Kwik Chek in Calera “telling stories”. He always got a kick out of pestering everyone he knew but he was the first person you call when you needed help or just someone to tell you the truth (or the way he saw it). He had the biggest heart and will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by long time companion Sherry of Calera, OK, his three sons Chris Harp and wife April of Coleman, OK, Justin Harp of Calera, OK, Austin Harp and wife Sarah of Calera, OK, his twin brother Donnie Harp and wife Belinda of Melissa, TX, brother Rick Harp of Durant, OK, uncle Joe Harp of Durant, OK, and aunt Linda Plyler of Durant, OK. His legacy lives on with his grandchildren Zoey Harp, Averi Harp, Charli Harp, and Josephine Harp. These girls were his world. He also had many nieces, nephews, and cousins. His special friends were Joey Karr and Layne Edwards.
Preceding him in death are his parents Richard and Elaine Harp, and his brother Steven “Brian” Harp.
