Rick Belch, fondly referred to as “Damps” by family and “Jackhammer” by friends, was born February 21, 1955 in Spartanburg, SC. He passed peacefully on March 15, 2023 at 9:49 am in Farmers Branch, Texas surrounded by family.
An extremely dedicated worker from age 13, Rick’s work ethic inspired others and was the bedrock of many lifelong relationships. Rick loved going on adventures with his wife of 38 years, taking his family fishing on his boat, and hosting family gatherings that were spent singing, dancing, and laughing. Much sage advice was dispensed at these gatherings over a game of pool. He welcomed everyone with his giant handsome smile, heartfelt belly laugh, and hugs …always hugs. His Sundays were spent in quiet time and worship with the Lord. His grandsons-in-law describe him as "the man, the myth, the legend" and "hands down, the best guy I've ever known." Our Damps made the world a warmer place, and he will be missed immensely.
Rick is survived by his wife Jeannine Belch, sister Debby Dixon, children Ricky and Christina, daughter Kathy Edwards, grandchildren Amber Sath, CiCi Chloupek, Devin Phipps, Blake Phipps, and great grandchildren Cameryn, Natalie, Juno, Jack, Bethany, and Madelynn Kate. Rick leaves behind many friends.
