Nocona M. (Susan) Brinkley was born February 6, 1944, at Cade, Oklahoma to the late Richard and Mattie James. She passed from this life on January 24, 2022, in Moore, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Brinkley graduated in 1962 from Bennington High School. She attended SOSU until she met and married W.A. Brinkley in Durant, Oklahoma. From this union three children were born Samantha, Jonathan, and Phillip.
Mrs. Brinkley was a homemaker and housewife to her family. She was an avid reader, keeping her bible close at hand. She enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors, growing flowers, working puzzles, and making crafts.
Preceding her in death are her parents, three infant brothers, three older brothers, a sister, sister in law, niece, and her son, Jonathan.
Survivors include her children Samantha of Calera, Oklahoma and Phillip of Norman, Oklahoma, brothers Tom James and wife Charlotte of Bennington, Oklahoma, Benny James and wife Barbara of Red Oak, Texas, sister Mickey Umsted and husband Kenneth of Cumberland, Oklahoma, four grandsons, four great grandchildren, friends Betty Jo and Bonnie of Moore, Oklahoma, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service honoring Nocona's life will be held at a later date.
