Jesse Ray Quarles caring husband and father passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 84. Jesse was born to Jess Stanley and Sarah Saphronia (Teague) Quarles on April 27, 1936 in Cobb, Oklahoma. Jesse married the love of his life Joan Anderson-Tate on December 21, 1957.
Jesse was a Truck Driver for J..C Potter’s for over 20 years. Jess, Joan and son Kip became business owners and ran P.D.Q and Red River Recycling and Disposal for over 10 years. In his spare time Jesse enjoyed crafting things from leather, gardening, and fishing. He had the honor to take care of his wife of 63 years for the last 6 years being her full-time caregiver.
Jesse is survived by his wife Joan Quarles of the home: Daughters, Kristie Stout and husband Steve Wichita Falls, Texas, Kelly Webb, Tracy Myers and husband Michael of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law Sarah Quarles; Grandchildren, Aaron Quarles and wife Amy of Denison, Texas, Lindsay Bartik of Frisco, Texas, Casey Stout and wife Alaina of Wichita Falls, Texas, Alyssa Sparks and husband Roger of Canyon, Texas, Spencer Sweeney and wife Loryne, Logan Sweeney, Hillary Cross and husband Greg, Joey Wetter, Hannah Wetter all of Durant, Oklahoma, Baylie Hagler and husband Joe of Bellevue, Nebraska, and Brooklyn Barrick of El Pasco, Texas; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Spellman.
Mr. Quarles is preceded in death by sons, Kip and Scott Quarles; grandchildren, Jessica Piazza and Austin Barrick; parents, Jess Stanley and Sarah Saphronia (Teague) Quarles; and sister, Billye McMillan.
Family Hour for Jesse will be 6-8pm, Thursday December 7, 2021 at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. Graveside service will be 12pm at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma with Jesse’s grandsons serving as pallbearers.
