Jerry “Yankee” Lawton passed from this life on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the age of 60 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on November 2, 1960 in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Bruce and Joyce (Downing) Lawton.
Yankee was a mechanic by trade but would do anything to help someone out. He was a loving and compassionate man who loved his Nascar races. He was proud of his 17 years of sobriety, but the main thing he was most proud of was being Pawpaw. He was looking forward to getting to meet his newest grandson, Little Peanut. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children daughter Sheena Burland of Caddo, Oklahoma, and his son Justin Burland of Caddo, Oklahoma. His grandson Benjamin Gibson, and Sheena’s Little Peanut on the way. He is also survived by his parents Bruce and Joyce, sister Wendy and brother Glenn, along with his girlfriend Cheryl Henderson and Ex-wife Sherri Shepard.
Yankee was preceded in death by his son Bryan Bruce Lawton, Grandma Lawton and his Mother-in-law, Deena Perkins.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Caddo, Oklahoma with Bro. Tommy Green officiating.
