Jason Mayes

Jason Russell Mayes of Savoy, Texas passed away in his home on August 24, 2023 at the age of 48 years old. He was born on November 6, 1974 in Pasadena, Texas to Jack and Saundra (Welborn) Mayes.  

Jason worked in flooring/construction. He enjoyed working with his hands, wood working and building things. Some of Jason’s favorite pastimes were scrapping and going to the casino. He was known to be a prankster, and his antics won’t be easily forgotten. Jason will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his wife Tina Trotter of Savoy, Texas, his daughter Jordyn Mayes of Pennsylvania, son Austin Mayes and wife Cierra of Arkansas, and daughter Jacklynn Mayes of Pennsylvania. His legacy will live on with his grandchildren Finnegan, Sawyer, Freyja, Madelyn, Brooklyn, and Bubba. Jason is also survived by his mother Saundra Welborn of Texas, his brother Mark Mayes and wife Pam of Wisconsin, and his sisters Cheri Boyd and husband James of Texas and Patty Davis and husband Mikey of Texas, sister-in-law Amber Finley and husband Nick, sister-in-law Tracy Schultz, and mother-in-law Sandra Plafcan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. 

Preceding him in death are his father Jack Mayes, numerous uncles and aunts, Grandpa and Grandma Mayes, and Grandpa and Grandma Welborn. 

Family Hour will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Cornwell and Pastor Eades officiating.
