Army Sergeant First Class James Curtis Bramblet of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in Edmond, Oklahoma - just three days past his 78th birthday. He was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Jeannette Hastings Bramblet, father Curtis Henwood Bramblet and sister Janet Carolyn Bramblet Foos.
Jim passed peacefully, near his family, after a brief illness. His last days were spent reading books, eating watermelon, laughing with his nieces and nephew and telling stories about his childhood.
We will always remember his laugh, his smile, the excitement we felt when he walked in the door for a weekend visit wearing his army fatigues, how proud he was to be a Veteran and how when he had a sneezing fit…it felt like it would never end!
Jim will join his parents and little sister in burial at Crown Hill Cemetery in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. An intimate graveside service will take place Saturday, September 16 at 1:00 p.m. where full military honors will be presented.
Please honor our Uncle Jim by thanking a veteran or making a donation in his name to any VFW post.
Services are under the direction of Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home, 121 North 5th Street, Durant, Oklahoma 74701. www.holmescoffeymurray.com
