George Westley Moffatt

June 24, 1949 ~ January 4, 2021 (age 71)


George Moffatt, a veteran of the United States Air Force, and resident of Bennington, Oklahoma left this life on January 4, 2021 at the age of 71. His brother Alfred Moffatt also passed away on December 14, 2020. Their graveside services will be together on at 2:00 PM Thursday January 7, 2021 at the Old Church Cemetery in Bennington with Br. Jerry Perry officiating. The service can be viewed via live stream on our Facebook page at the time of the service.

George was born in Bennington, Oklahoma to George Moffatt and Evelyn (West) Moffatt on June 24, 1949. George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He worked for CompSource for the State of Oklahoma. George was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf. He also worked for Lowes in Durant for a while.

Mr. Moffatt is survived by his sons, David Lawson and wife Teresa of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Christopher Lawson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Luke Westley Lawson and Liam Jeffrey Lawson, and one sister, Geraldine Moffatt of Bennington, Oklahoma.

Mr. Moffatt was preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn Moffatt, brother, Alfred Moffatt, and sister-in-law, Ann Moffatt.

Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma
