Freda (Weathers) Stubblefield

December 17, 1923 ~ February 21, 2021 (age 97)

Freda (Weathers) Stubblefield, a resident of Oklahoma City, OK entered her eternal rest on February 21, 2021 at the age of 97. She was born in Cade, OK on December 17, 1923 to D. W. Weathers and Rebecca (Olsen) Weathers. A graveside service in honor of her life will be at 2:00 PM Friday February 26th at the Old Church Cemetery in Bennington, OK with Pastor Jesse West officiating.

Freda graduated from Bennington High School. During WW II she worked for the Tinker Field Air Force Base in aircraft manufacturing. After the war she entered the banking profession at the Federal Reserve Bank of Oklahoma City and continued to work in banking operations into her late 70’s.

Freda was known for her dedication and work ethic. She lovingly cared for her family and always made her children a priority. And because of her gentle heart she was drawn to care for all animals.

Freda was a humble and shy person. She was fiercely independent and a do-it-yourself person. She never thought much about how to improve her own life, but always looked to find ways to improve the lives of others.

She enjoyed the sermons of Reverend Billy Graham and was always inclined to root for the underdog in nearly every situation.

On this earth there simply could not be a more giving, loving, and devoted mother. She is a gift from the All-Mighty to her two children. The example she set for the virtues of hard work, honesty, self sacrifice, and a never-give-up demeanor formed their characters and earned their everlasting love and admiration, as well as that of her entire family.

Mrs. Stubblefield is survived by her children, David Larry Stubblefield of Oklahoma City, Cheryln Lea (Stubblefield) Scott and husband Bill of Edmond, OK, cherished grandchildren, Cody Shane Stubblefield of Oklahoma City and Casey Danielle (Stubblefield) Coyle and husband Casey of Piedmont, OK, and great-grandchildren, Vann, Rowan, Nixon, and Rawlings.

Mrs. Stubblefield was preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Christine (Weathers) Sluder, Oma (Weathers) Jackson, Jean (Weathers) Troop, David Dee Weathers, and great-grandchild, Oakland Coyle.
