Betty Orr

Betty Orr of Sherman passed peacefully into the presence of her Savior on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the age of 86. She was born July 29, 1936 in Bokchito, Oklahoma to Morris Aubrey “Jake” and Bertha (Cox) Smith.

Betty was a retired nurse from the Sherman area. She worked in the nursing home environment and loved caring for the elderly. Betty enjoyed spending time reading. She attended Victory Life Church in Sherman. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Harrol Orr of Sherman, Texas, her sons Ken Stiles and wife Debbie of Mansfield, Texas and Perry Stiles of Denison, Texas, her daughter Sandi Chesser and husband Don of Denison, Texas, and her adopted daughter Kandi Bennett. Her legacy lives on with her grandchildren Krisha, Jason, Lindsey, Mandi, Mendi, Laci, Kaci, Amber, and Ashely, and her fifteen great-grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her brother Donny Smith.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jake and Bertha Smith, her brother Aubrey, and her sister Verba.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. before the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with Pastor Stan Roberts officiating. Betty will be laid to rest at Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, Oklahoma following her funeral service.

Those serving as pallbearers are Perry Stiles, Kenny Stiles, Don Chesser, Drew Dunlap, Dylan Lueking, and Jason Stiles.
